At Mathis Woodworks, we are a husband and wife team, and every piece we create has a story - one that began in a small basement in Syracuse, New York. Jason first fell in love with woodworking watching his grandfather craft timeless pieces by hand. Years later, his passion was reignited when his wife, Monica, asked him to build a few contemporary pieces for their home - a coffee table, a kitchen tray, a jewelry stand, all in her favorite wood finish: white oak.

Inspired by the beauty and functionality of Jason’s work, we realized we wanted to share these designs with others who appreciate clean, contemporary craftmanship. Jason still uses some of his grandfather’s original templates, blending tradition with a modern aesthtic to create pieces that feel both timeless and fresh.
